Reining Canada Thanks its Members for Fantastic 2007!

Reining Canada is proud to reflect upon the success of 2007 and would like to take this opportunity to highlight several important programs that were in place during 2007.

Affiliate Program

The Affiliate Program is just one of Reining Canada's purposes, but a very important one for many Canadian Reiners. Reining Canada has put considerable effort and resources into the Affiliate Program to ensure its success including providing regular communication venues among Canadian Regional Affiliates and providing funds towards the hosting of Affiliate Circuits and NRHA approved shows. At the end of the year Reining Canada will forward each Affiliate who hosted an Affiliate Circuit $500 in addition to $50 for every NRHA approved show that the Affiliate ran. Reining Canada wishes the best of luck to the many representatives headed to the Adequan North American Championship at the end of the month.

Reining Canada Education Program

Reining Canada believes in providing opportunities within Canada for individuals to better their education on reining and how to manage reining events to that end in 2007 Reining Canada provided funding towards the hosting of NRHA Judges Seminars and NRHA Show Secretary Seminars.

Reining Canada Beginner Program

Reining Canada is excited at acknowledging the success of the grassroots participants in reining and was pleased to see the Reining Canada Beginner Program grow during 2007. The Reining Canada Beginner Class was offered at several shows across Canada. Reining Canada would like to Congratulate Eric Mesley from Ontario for earning the Reining Canada Beginner Champion Title for 2007 and Sharon Carlson from Saskatchewan for sliding into the Reserve Champion spot. For complete results please visit the Reining Canada website.

Reining Canada Young Rider Program

A big initiative for Reining Canada for 2007 was to undertake the development of youth programs and the Young Rider Program is a result of that initiative. Reining Canada was pleased to see an Eastern and Western Finals for the Young Rider Class and very excited to see some dynamic youth participating in the Classes. Full Results and more details on the Young Rider Program will be available in the next Slidin'

Reining Canada and Equine Canada Sports Agreement

The Sports Agreement with Equine Canada allows Reining Canada to provide a connection between the reining community and Equine Canada. While one purpose of the Equine Canada is to give Reiners the opportunity to participate in International Events such as the FEI World Reining Masters or the FEI World Equestrian Games there are numerous other benefits for Canadian Reiners as well.

The Sports Agreement with Equine Canada provides Canadian Reiners and Canadian Reining Breeders access to some very important programs and funds designed for the sole intention of promoting Canadian Reining Horses worldwide. Take for example, the Canadian Reining Breeders Directory initiative that Reining Canada has recently undertaken. The Directory is a direct result of the alliance with Equine Canada. The Equine Canada Funding Program which Reining Canada just recently announced, allows Canadian Reiners on Canadian Bred Horses to recoup some of their expenditures when competing at International Events such as the North American Affiliate Finals.

As the Reining Canada and Equine Canada continues to develop reiners in Canada can expect to see more programs and initiatives undertaken to promote Canadian Horses and Canadian Reiners outside of Canada.

And....

Reining Canada worked on several other initiatives including the establishment of this eNewsletter to foster information flow to reining enthusiasts and a new more functional website. Reining Canada would sincerely like to take the opportunity to thank and acknowledge the support it received in 2007 from it members, the Canadian Affiliates and is looking forward to building upon 2007's success in 2008!
