2008 North American Affiliate Championship Conditions

NRHA has just released the 2008 North American Affiliate Championship Conditions

ARE YOU THE BEST IN YOUR CLASS? JOIN THE NAAC PROGRAM AND CLAIM THE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN 2008!

Participate in the only NRHA program that rewards every class of competition!

Advance from your local affiliate to the NRHA North American Regional Affiliate Finals and qualify for the Adequan North American Affiliate Championship competition!

Be sure to join both your local affiliate and your National Associate Affiliate if one exists in your country to qualify for participation!

Remember the Adequan North American Affiliate Championships are subject to their own unique and exciting conditions!

Top 10 horse/rider teams, plus ties, in each class from each participating affiliate are eligible to compete at the Regional Affiliate Finals level for Morrison bronzes (Pewter trophies for Rookie and Youth winners) and a tremendous amount of sponsor award product.

$500 will be awarded to the affiliate in each region whose team members earn the most points! Affiliates: encourage as many of your top 10 qualifiers, plus ties, as possible to represent you at the Regional Affiliate Finals, because it pays.

Medallions, scholarships and sponsor gifts will be awarded to the members of winning teams in the Youth Team Tournaments held at the regional level.

The top four (4) places, plus ties at fourth, in each class represent their regions at the Adequan North American Affiliate Championships held in conjunction with the NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma City. Winners receive a special Lawson bronze, saddles, buckles, cash rewards and generous sponsor gifts!

Rookies: it's only through the NAAC program that you can qualify to compete for the Performance Horse Rookie of the Year title.

FAQS - About NRHA National Association Affiliates

1. What is an NRHA National Association Affiliate?

A National Association Affiliate (NAA) is an NRHA Affiliate acting as the reining "front man" within a specific country. They have met the conditions listed in the NRHA Bylaws, applied for NAA status and been approved by NRHA. Once an NAA has chosen to participate in the International Affiliate Program (IAP), they shall be recognized as the organization to provide governance and leadership for the sport of Reining on a national level in that country.

2. What are the responsibilities of an NAA?

Once an NAA has 100 members and has held four (4) NRHA-approved shows they shall receive one (1) seat on the NRHA Board of Directors. Upon acquiring 1,000 members and after holding 25 NRHA approved shows, an NAA shall receive at least three (3) seats on the NRHA Board of Directors. The NAA will receive, review and approve or disapprove all Non Pro declarations submitted from NRHA members in its country.

3. What are the International Affiliate Program and the benefits it offers an NAA?

The International Affiliate Program (IAP) is the element through which NRHA supports the NAAs. It is "International" by definition and scope and offers standard guidelines which allow NRHA to recognize each country's unique conditions and support NRHA-approved programs, events, and classes coordinated through the NAA.

4. What are the benefits to those NAAs choosing to participate in the IAP?

  • The NAA may elect to establish a joint membership, but cannot require members in their country to join except where qualification conditions apply.

  • The NAA will be authorized to settle all protests that arise within its country.

  • The NAA will make recommendations on all NRHA show approvals within its country.

  • The NAA will receive a $30 rebate from NRHA for every NRHA general member residing in their country.

  • The NAA will receive a 50% rebate of the NRHA show fees for every NRHA-approved show held in their country.

5. Do I have to join my NAA if my country has one?

  • With the application of Bylaw J, NRHA does not require membership to an NAA in order to compete in NRHA-approved events and/or classes.

  • There are, however, special programs that NRHA supports that do not fall under the regulations of the NRHA Bylaws and Rules in which NAA membership is required to qualify for participation. If a member does not wish to participate in these programs, NAA membership is not required.

  • The structure of equestrian programs within your country, province, region or the criteria of your local affiliate may require you to join your NAA. Please check with your local affiliate for more information.

6. Can I be a member of my NAA even if I'm not a member of NRHA?

Yes! Absolutely. Individual support of your NAA is encouraged since they may facilitate Reining on several levels within your country.

7. What is the membership fee for a National Association Affiliate?

NAA fees are determined by the NAA independently. Please contact your NAA for more information.
