RC recognizes the tremendous amount of work that is required to
host the Judges Seminars and would like to assist the Regional
Affiliates by offering $500.00 towards the first 3 judges
seminars scheduled in Canada.* dependant on regional
applications. The RC Education Program was undertaken in 2007
and will be offered again for 2009. |

Canada Affiliate Circuit Award Program/ NOUVEAU POUR 2009!
Un programme de récompenses pour les qualifications aux finales

The purpose of the
Reining Canada Affiliate Circuit Awards Program is to assist and
promote Affiliates to host NHRA/Reining Canada Affiliate Circuit
classes. The Circuit classes provide opportunity for Reiners in
Canada to participate and qualify for Regional Finals and onto
to the North American Affiliate Finals. Reining Canada is
thrilled to announce for 2009 it will provide each Affiliate
that hosts a NRHA/RC Affiliate Circuit, 6 beautiful spurs to
award to selected NRHA Affiliate Circuit Champions.
Reining Canada would like to thank its sponsor, FG Reining
Collection, for assisting Reining Canada in securing these
fabulous awards for Canadian Reiners.

Alberta Update

Reining Canada and
Reining Alberta had a productive and informative meeting this past
Sunday in Calgary, Alberta. Significant headway was achieved and it was
agreed to move forward together to assist in the development and support
of reining in Canada. Reining Canada is grateful and would like to thank
the Reining Alberta Directors who gave their Sunday up to attend.
Reining Canada looks forward to a positive working relationship in the
future.


The qualifying is underway in Canada... what an exciting time for
Canada's Young Riders. Stay tuned for more information as the shows
progress. Below is an updated list of Qualification Classes:

Alberta - Quarter Horse Association of Alberta
will be hosting two qualification classes. May 7-10, 2009 at the
Claresholm Range Round Up and May 21-24, 2009 at the Alberta Chinook
Quarter Horse Circuit in Red Deer. *NEW* Reining Alberta will be
hosting a qualification class May 17th, Okotoks, AB.

Manitoba - Central Canada Reining Horse
Association will host a qualifying class at the Miracle Ranch Show
in Winnipeg, MB May 23-24, 2009.

Ontario - Ontario Reining Horse Association will
host a qualifying class at Reining at the Royal in Newmarket, ON May
31, 2009.

2009 Kentucky Cup Canadian Reining Qualification Criteria has been Announced
|
A
series of competitions will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in 2009
and 2010 to test the new arena, stadium and other facilities before the
Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are held in 2010. The competitions
will be named The Kentucky Cup. The first competition will be a reining
competition July 15- 20, 2009, followed by vaulting July 28-Aug. 2,
endurance Sept. 28-30, driving Oct. 1-4 and eventing, jumping and
dressage April 20-25, 2010, during the 2010 Rolex Three-Day Event.
The selection criteria for the 2009 Reining Kentucky
Cup CRI 4* event has now been posted on the Equine Canada website.
Riders who are interested in representing Canada at the 2009 Kentucky
Cup must achieve a score of 68 or greater at two different CRI
competitions during the qualifying period of May 31, 2008 through June
29, 2009. Riders will be ranked based on their top two results achieved
during the qualification period, and a team of four riders will be
selected in order of ranking by July 6, 2009.
Riders who would like to be considered for selection
must declare their interest to Equine Canada by May 18, 2009, in
accordance with the selection criteria.
