Canada reclaimed the top of
the podium at the NAJYR team competition, this
time with its Alberta/Manitoba team earning a
score of 623. All three counting scores on the
Gold medal team came in above the 200 point
mark.

Jessica Green
(201),
Lisa Hiebert
(206.5),
Nancy Pratch(215.5),
and
Kylie Wasiuta
(194) powered through the competition with
determination and heart and their efforts paid
off in a big way. Defending the Gold medal on
behalf of Canada was a top priority for the
team, and seasoned team veterans Pratch and
Wasiuta knew just what it would take.
Nancy Pratch wins her third
FEI Gold medal in two years, as she was the
anchor rider for the Gold medal Canadian team at
the Adequan North American Junior & Young Rider
Championships last year and won the Individual
Gold medal in 2010.

very proud of you.

Le Canada a encore une fois
monté sur la plus haute marche du podium à
l'épreuve en équipe du NAJYRC, cette fois avec
l'équipe Alberta/Manitoba avec un pointage total
de 623. Les trois pointages qui ont été retenus
pour la médaille d'or ont été au-dessus de la
ligne du 200.
Les membres de l'équipe, soit
Jessica Green (201), Lisa Hiebert
(206.5), Nancy Pratch (215.5), et
Kylie Wasiuta(194) ont vaincu par leur
determination leur et coeur et leur efforts ont
été recompenses. Défendre la médaille d'or du
Canada était la priorité #1 de l'équipe, et les
veterans de l'équipe Pratch et Wasuita svait
exactement ce que ça leur prenait pour atteindre
l'objectif.
Nancy Pratch a gagné sa
troisième médaille d'or FEI en 2 ans, car elle
était la cavalière clé pour la médaille d'or de
l'équipe canadienne au Championnat Nord
Américain Junior et jeunes cavaliers Adequan
l'an dernier et elle a gagné aussi la médaille
d'or individuelle en 2010.

While many come from far and wide to participate
in the NAJYRC, perhaps none so far as team
Saskatchewan, Canada. Determined and resolute,
the team goal was to find a way to the podium in
2011, which began as far back as qualifying
events.
The team drove long hours, remained focused and
kept an incredible team spirit - and was
rewarded with the team's first FEI medals.

Shelbie Friesen
(202.5),
Jon Katzman
(202.5), and
Lindsay Wankel
(204) - combined for a team score of 615.

Comme plusieurs partent de
loin pour participer au NAJYRC, certainement que
l'Équipe Saskatchewan, Canada, était celle la
plus éloignée. Déterminée et résolue, l'objectif
de l'équipe était de trouver le chemin pour le
podium en 2011, ce qui a commencé aussi tôt que
lors des épreuves de qualifications.
L'équipe a conduit de longues
heures, ont conservé leur focus et gardé un
incroyable esprit d'équipe et ils ont récolté
leur première médaille FEI. Les médaillés de
bronze provenant du Canada sont : Brent
Dembisky (208,5), Shelbie Friesen
(202,5), Jon Katzman (202,5) et
Lindsay Wankel (204) pour un pointage

Shelbie Friesen, Lane Wilson
and Emily Wilson earned top individuals honours
in reining on July 30 at the 2011 Adequan FEI
North American Junior Young Rider Championships.
Presented by Gotham North, these Championships
were held July 27-31 at the Kentucky Horse Park
in Lexington, KY.
Shelbie Friesen
of Saskatoon, SK rode Golden Lena Chex, Robert
Brickley's seven-year-old Quarter Horse
stallion, to a bronze medal finish in the Young
Riders division. Friesen tied for the silver
medal with American Laura Sumrall with a score
of 217.50 after the first run, so a run-off was
required to determine the individual silver
medalist. Sumrall went in the arena and earned a
215.50 with her horse Einsteins Fancy Pine.
Friesen was next up and completed her opening
spins and started on her right circle. Out of
character, Golden Lena Chex did not follow
Friesen's aids, which resulted in a rough right
turn, and as a true sport, Friesen realized that
she would not earn a score of over 215.50 and
retired herself from the competition, winning
the bronze medal instead.
In the Junior Rider division
Lane Wilson
of Goodwood, ON, won the gold medal, scoring 207
for his run, on No Finer Shiner, Mark Lipfeld's
10-year-old Quarter Horse stallion.
Emily Wilson
of Uxbridge, ON, earned the individual bronze
medal riding Miss Cielo Chex, Tamalyn Wilson's
nine-year-old Quarter Horse mare.

Shelbie Friesen, Lane
Wilson et Emily Wilson on remporté les honneurs
individuelles en reining le 30 juillet dernier
au Championnat Nord Américain FEI Junior et
Jeunes Cavaliers Adequan. Presenté par
Gotham North, les championnat se sont déroulé du
27 au 31 juillet au Kentucky Horse Park à
Lexington au Kentucky.
Shelbie Friesen de
Saskatoon, SK montant Golden Lena Chex, un
étalon Quarter Horse de 7 ans propriété de
Robert Brickley ont remporté la médaille de
bronze dans la division Jeunes Cavaliers.
Friesen est arrivé ex-aequo pour la médaille
d'argent avec l'américaine Laura Sumrall avec
une pointage de 217.50 pour la première ronde,
donc une deuxième ronde était nécessaire pour
déterminer le médaillé d'argent. Sumrall est
passé en premier et a eu 215.50 avec son cheval
Einsteins Fancy Pine. Friesen était la suivante
et a complété ses vrilles et a fait son depart
au gallop dans le cerlce à main droite. Au bout
du rouleau, Golden Lena Chex n'a pas écouté les
commandes de Friesen, ce qui a résulté d'un
courbe abrupte dans son rond, et en vrai
compétiteur, Friesen réalisait qu'elle n'aurait
pas un pointage au-dessus de 215.50 et s'est
retiré de la compétition, gagnant la médaille de
bronze.
Dans la divison Junior,
Lane Wilson de Goodwood, ON, a gagné la
médaille d'or avec un pointage de 207 sur un
étalon Quarter Horse de 10 ans ,No Finer Shiner
propriété de Mark Lipfeld. Emily Wilson
de Uxbridge, ON, a obtenu la médaille de bronse
individuelle montant Miss Cielo Chex, une jument
Quarter Horse de 9 ans propriété de Tamalyn
Wilson.

Mr. Loris Epis had the run of a lifetime aboard
Custom Maid To Order a 4 yr old mare by Custom
Crome x Metermaid To Order owned by John and
Sharon Fletcher at the Quarterama.
He scored a 77 in the open.
Reining Canada doesn't keep stats on scores, we
would like to know if any Canadian has scored
higher in history. If anyone has a recollection
of a bigger score let us know.
Congratulations Loris on this phenomenal
achievement!!!!!

performance de sa vie au Quarterama sur Custom
Maid To Order une jument de 4 ans par Custom
Crome x Metermaid To Order propriété de John et
Sharon Fletcher. Il a eu un pointage de 77 dans
l'omnium.
Reining Canada ne tient pas
de statistiques sur les pointages, et nous
aimerions savoir si un autre canadien a obtenu
un score supérieur dans l'histoire. Si qui que
ce soit a souvenance d'un meilleur pointage,
laissez nous le savoir.

Finals are fast approaching. Both will
be held on September 23, 24, 25th, 2011.
Congratulations to all those affiliate
members who are eligible to compete for
a spot in OKC at the NAAC.

the 15 NRHA divisions will be sporting a

volunteers are working feverishly to
collect all the stats required. |
