Varsity Reining

Attention YOUTH!

NRHyA Varsity Reining Club is looking for participants. The NRHyA Varsity Reining Club was established to engage Youth members and encourage them to become more active at both the local and national levels. The program offers NRHyA members opportunities to contribute to the NRHyA in addition to developing valuable life skills that will allow them to be successful contributors of society.

So what is the NRHyA Varsity Reining Club, the program allows Youth members to earn points through a variety of volunteer activities. There are five levels to the program. As members advance through the levels, they become eligible for more opportunities in the NRHyA. In addition to the opportunities, they will receive awards for their accomplishments.

Points can be earned by doing any combination of projects listed so long as the member does at least two projects off of the "Being Helpful" list and one project off the "Get Creative" list. An entry form will be available for each different project listed. An entry form must be submitted for points to count. The forms will be unique to each project and contain information the member must provide in order to be given credit for their work. This will all be available online. New members will be allowed to compete in the Youth Team Tournament (YTT) their first year without having earned any points as it may not be feasible for them to have had enough time to earn sufficient amount of points to participate in the YTT.

Tracking the points will just be a matter of creating a database with all the youth members' names, and entering their earned points as they submit their forms. Parents will play a key role in the success of the Varsity Reining Club. So long as the members are made aware of the Club and how it operates, the benefits and rewards should motivate youth participation. Aside from getting the youth members to interact with one another and participate, the Varsity Reining Club will provide life skills that will help Youth grow and mature. Stressing the importance of community service, being an active member in a group and learning to work with others, public speaking, written communication skills and creativity are all important skills that can be further developed by participating in this program.

Visit the NRHyA for more information.
