Reining Canada Programs for 2012
What Reining Canada will do for
you!
- Reining Canada will not charge a membership fee in 2012.
- Reining Canada will apply, as it has done in the past, for NAA status at
the NRHA for 2012 and carry out the business of the NAA.
- Reining Canada will continue to carry out the business of a not for
profit organization as per the Canada Corporations rules.
- Reining Canada will not require membership applications or forward NRHA
applications in 2012.
- Reining Canada membership will now be automatic to members that reside
in Canada and/or have a permanent Canadian address and have a current NRHA
membership.
- Reining Canada will continue to provide information and communications
with its members, via e-newsletters, and the Reining Canada website as it
relates to information important to Canadian reiners from NRHA and RC.
- Reining Canada will remain accessible to the membership through our
office email, website, or telephone.
- Reining Canada will access its membership information through the NRHA
and the Regional Affiliates.
- Reining Canada will continue to bring forward Canadian reiners’ concerns
to the appropriate organizations.
- Reining Canada will remain Canada’s liaison to the NRHA and other Equine
organizations as required.
- Reining Canada BOD will continue to provide programs to encourage
participation and promotion of NRHA affiliates, events and programs in
Canada while remaining fiscally responsible to our members.
- Reining Canada will continue to promote the showing and breeding of the
reining horse and strive to keep Canadians aware of information as it
pertains to the reining horse.
- Reining Canada as the NAA will continue to provide a BOD and NAA
Representation to the NRHA.

Programs at Reining Canada
As the National Association Affiliate for Reining in Canada, RC has a mandate
to further the development of the sport of reining in Canada. RC recognizes the
tremendous amount of work that has occurred with the Regional Affiliates and
would like to assist the Regional Affiliates and Eastern and Western Finals with
continuation of these programs. *Please be aware that Reining Canada award
recipients must have a current Canadian address registered at the NRHA in order
to be considered for any award. (The Reiner of the Year may be exempt)
- NRHA Affiliate Finals Hosting Grant
- Holding the Eastern and Western Affiliate Finals is not only an
honor but also a financial burden to the association that takes on this
prestigious event. Reining Canada as the NAA to the NRHA is proud to
support the promotion of the Affiliate Finals with financial support to
the associations that host this event
- Reining Canada Regional Affiliate Circuit Awards Program
- Eastern and Western Affiliate Finals Championship Series
- This program will provide the Champions in each of the Affiliate
Classes at both the Eastern and Western Affiliate Finals a Reining
Canada Championship jacket in all 15 recognized affiliate classes.
- Representative Funding
- The Canadian representatives to the NRHA are very important
positions. To ensure that those individuals that have stepped forward to
support Canadians and sacrificed their time to ensure that Canadian
reiners’ needs are addressed and that information is forwarded through
Reining Canada to all our members, Reining Canada has taken the
initiative to support those individuals with financial support for their
endeavors.
- Reining Canada Reiner of the Year
- The Reining Canada Reiner of the Year is selected by the Reining
Canada Board of Directors and recognizes a Canadian individual (or
individuals) demonstrating outstanding achievement or contribution to
the sport of Reining in the current year.
- FG Reining Collection Incentive
- FG Reining Collection offers a 10 to 25 % discount to Reining Canada
members on a great selection of products.
- Mark’s Work Wearhouse
- Mark’s Work Wearhouse offers 10% off select merchandise to Reining
Canada members

Reining Canada Reiner of the
Year 'guidelines'Reining Canada
Reiner of the Year
- The Reining Canada Reiner of the Year award will recognize a Canadian
individual (or individuals) demonstrating outstanding achievement or
contribution to the sport of Reining in the current year.
- Candidates may be riders, horses, owners, breeders, trainers, coaches,
or volunteers involved at any level. They should demonstrate excellent
sportsmanship and act as ambassadors for the sport and be dedicated to
showing, breeding, and promotion of Reining horses.
- We welcome nominations for the Canadian Reiner of the Year to be
submitted in brief essay form (300-500 words), explaining the candidate’s
involvement. Please outline their years involved with Reining Canada,
any show records, special interests and their influence in the Reining
Community.
- The Reining Canada Board of Directors will choose recipient of this
award.
